Cellnex Austria becomes Optimus Tower Austria:

With Vauban Infrastructure Partners, EDF Invest and MEAG - all experienced and long-term oriented investors in strategic infrastructure projects - the consortium combines extensive expertise in the infrastructure sector. In August 2024, Cellnex Telecom signed an agreement with this consortium to take over all of its Austrian business activities.

As part of this takeover, the company has now been renamed Optimus Tower Austria GmbH. This step emphasises the company's position as the leading independent telecommunications infrastructure provider in Austria, which always aims to develop the best solutions for its customers, and heralds a new era. With a market share of around 25 per cent and around 4,600 locations, Optimus Tower Austria remains the largest independent provider of communications infrastructure in the country.

"Under our new name Optimus Tower Austria, we are continuing our commitment to providing a reliable and future-proof telecommunications infrastructure throughout Austria in order to always be able to develop the best solutions for our customers. Our sites form the backbone of modern communication networks and enable high-performance mobile communications coverage throughout the country," explains Peter Haupt, Managing Director at Optimus Tower Austria.

The company not only provides a basic infrastructure and the use of existing sites (site sharing), but also develops customised solutions (built-to-fit) for individual customer requirements. Optimus Tower Austria is also an expert in in-house mobile radio solutions for optimised mobile radio coverage in various types of buildings.

Optimus Tower Austria GmbH will retain its headquarters at Brünner Straße 52, 1210 Vienna.
