Optimus Tower strengthens management team

Nikolaus Roessner (Group Chief Financial Officer) and Josef Künz (Group Chief Technology & Operations Officer) complete the management team of the private equity-managed communications infrastructure platform.

Vienna, Austria, 3 December 2025 - Optimus Tower is strengthening its corporate management and relying on bundled international expertise, a deep understanding of the market and many years of technological know-how. Nikolaus Roessner, M.Phil., B.A., has been acting as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since September 2025. Josef Künz, MAS, IEMBA, who has played a key technological role in the company, formerly Cellnex Austria, for many years, has been appointed Group Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTO/COO).

"Her combination of international investment experience, in-depth technological expertise and a deep understanding of the market is an essential building block for the further development of our company.

Nikolaus Roessner has more than 15 years of experience in pan-European infrastructure investments, asset management and the development of new infrastructure platforms. During his twelve years as a director at Infracapital, he was responsible for numerous investments in medium-sized infrastructure companies and led the establishment of the Polish fibre optic platform Nexera, among others. Further professional positions include leading roles in the investment in the Italian container port operator Gruppo Investimenti Portuali and the development of the French photovoltaic platform Infram Energy. Most recently, he headed the Austrian business of global asset manager M&G Investments for four years.

With Josef Künz an experienced technology and business expert with more than a quarter of a century of experience in the industry is taking over responsibility for the entire technical and operational area of Optimus Tower.

He has been with the company - formerly Cellnex Austria, now Optimus Tower - for many years in key management roles. In addition to his in-depth technical expertise, he has made a significant contribution to the strategic development of the business, the optimisation of operational processes and the development of new business models. Prior to this, he worked in Switzerland for ten years, heading up the Public Safety Communication division at Swisscom Broadcast, where he was responsible for both technical programmes and business development initiatives, and was also previously a member of the Executive Board of Cellnex Telecom Switzerland. His many years of service in the Group stand for in-depth technical expertise, stability and an established customer focus.
